Telling Time!

 June 2011 009 June 2011 011

Little lovebugs had such fun making their own clocks and learning about telling time.  It was the first lesson so we didn't get too far but MOST of us did manage to get our numbers in order!  With some help.

This was our craft for Letter H for the word "horas" which means hours and is used like "o'clock" is in English.  So, 9 o'clock is "nove horas" in Portuguese.

By the way, any tips on teaching kids the 24 hour clock with is what they use here?  So 1pm is 1300 hours!  Tricky!

I've seen clocks that have the 24 hours on them--under the 1 is a 13... Maybe do that. This link is a picture of such a clock. http://www.google.com/imgres?q=24+hour+clocks&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&tbm=isch&tbnid=Yn8eLSr4smrlwM:&imgrefurl=http://www.officeclocks.com/24_Hour_Clocks.html&docid=th2-nshp8iczzM&w=318&h=322&ei=ZpEsTozEI6G60AGK1LnkDg&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=124&vpy=163&dur=2066&hovh=226&hovw=223&tx=140&ty=118&page=1&tbnh=106&tbnw=106&start=0&ndsp=18&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0&biw=1024&bih=599
